Description
Poly Bright Quick Restore is a backup and restore plugin that saves your WordPress database and your wp-content folder (media, plugins and themes) into a single .wpqr file. You can restore that file on the same site, or use it to migrate the site to a new domain or a new host.
Free features
- Full-site backup to one
.wpqrfile: your database, media, plugins and themes. - One-click restore from a backup saved on your server, or restore from an uploaded file. You confirm before anything is overwritten.
- Chunked upload. The file is sent in small pieces, so hosts with a small PHP upload limit are not a problem. Even a 2 MB limit works.
- Backup validation. A backup is checked before anything on your site is overwritten, and you can verify a backup without restoring it.
- Confirmation before overwrite. You are always asked before a restore replaces your current site.
- Serialization-safe URL replacement when you restore on a new domain, so page-builder content and other serialized data keep working.

There is no trial period, and nothing in the free plugin expires.
Limits
Backups can be of any total site size, but a single file larger than 200 MB is left out of the backup. The free version restores backups up to 512 MB; the optional Quick Restore Pro add-on removes that limit. WordPress Multisite is not supported yet.
Moving from All-in-One WP Migration?
Quick Restore reads .wpress files, so backups you already have stay usable. Go to Quick Restore > Restore and choose the file.
Quick Restore Pro (optional paid add-on)
Quick Restore Pro is a separate add-on plugin, sold as a one-time payment that includes 12 months of updates.

Installation
- Upload the plugin folder to
/wp-content/plugins/, or install it from Plugins > Add New. - Activate the plugin.

When you restore a backup on a different domain, Quick Restore replaces the old site address with the new one in the database, including inside serialized data, so links and page-builder content keep working. Install WordPress and this plugin on the new host. On the old site, go to Quick Restore > Export and create a backup, then download it. On the new site, go to Quick Restore > Restore and upload it. If the domain is different, URLs are replaced automatically.

Where are my backups stored?

On your own server, in a Quick Restore folder inside wp-content. Nothing is sent to Poly Bright Labs: the free plugin makes no outbound connections and has no tracking.

- The free version now restores backups up to 512 MB. Backups have no limit on total site size. Restoring larger backups requires the optional Quick Restore Pro add-on (one-time purchase, no subscription).
- Oversized files are refused before upload begins, so no time is wasted uploading a backup that cannot be restored.
- Added the wpqr_max_restore_size filter so extensions can raise or remove the restore limit.

- Critical fix: exports were stuck at “Archiving files… 0 done” forever. The resume position between steps was being written to a discarded copy of the state, so every step restarted from the first file and re-archived the same files endlessly. Fixed by passing state by reference. Exports now resume correctly and complete.
- Progress counter now updates live during archiving instead of staying frozen.
