FAQ

I’ve installed Quick Favicon. Where are my settings?

After installing Quick Favicon, you can access your Icon Settings two ways.

  1. By clicking Icon Settings on the Plugins page in your Dashboard
  2. By clicking Icons on the Appearance menu in your Dashboard
Can a different icon be used for both the front and back-end of a site?

Yes. You can set a separate icon OR set the same icon for both areas.

The sizes listed on the Windows tab are not the actual sizes that Microsoft recommends!

True. Those sizes are basically the minimum-margins. If you look at the images themselves after they are generated, they do match Microsoft’s recommended sizes. The reason for this is that they want to ensure smooth graphic quality on systems with large displays. Down-scaling is the only way to keep clean images.

The plugin doesn't work - I can't upload the icon file because of an error message "You're not allowed to attach files to this post". I checked the support and just saw - NOONE WITH A SUPPORT QUESTION GOT A DAMN RESPONSE. I was thinking: WTF??! Now THAT'S WHAT I CALL PROFESSIONAL PLUGIN DEVELOPMENT LOL!!

This plugin dosn't connect to some external service/website which is great! Of course there are a view flaws (large images won't work, can't upload media in plugin settings) but overall it's super-customisable and works with the most common devices.

Favicon href in head is empty. Apple touch href in head starts with /wp-content instead of wp-content. When WP is installed in a folder. It does not work. 0% working

Just installed this and it worked well. I have had experience with some other before, but this time I did not need any plugin that converted anything form me. I had all my favicons for each platform premade and in the rigth size, and this is one the favicon-plugins where you actually can choose and separate favicons made especially for a single platform. Others I have tried tries to convert one picture into all sizes and platforms. A couple of times I received an error when trying to save new favicons, but OK when trying the same again. Received 6-8 lines with some conflict issues. However, it looks nice on all major browsers and platforms. So far it deserves 5 star!
